Newsletter September 2009
Dear Jennifer,

PCRW is fortunate to add Jenn Vermeulen as its new Website/Publicity Chairman.  She has been hard at work this summer updating and adding photos to our site.  Click on the July 4th picture on the opening page for more of the parade and celebration.  Go to "Events and Calendar", click on photo titles for more pictures of welcoming the troops at DFW and the April Meeting.  PCRW is now tweeting on the front page.  Bear with us as we learn to put that feature to good use to keep you well informed.

Tell your friends that they may now join through the website by filling out the membership form and going to pay pal.  It's a snap (or a series of clicks)!

The Spring Mixer was such a fun success that we will host another one on September 30th at Ozona.  Plan to join us in meeting new members and potential new members.  They want to meet you!  Bring a young person in your circle of friends or family that might be interested.

Greeting the Troops was an uplifting experience that I highly recommend.  Thanks to Natalie Harper and Ericka Salinas for organizing it.  We will keep you posted on details for another "Greeting" in the fall.

We had a great turnout for the July 4th Parade and Celebration and barbecue.  Thanks again to the McCrary family for the hot cars for our candidates!  Thank you Ericka Salinas for the great job as Chairman and getting it all organized.  Thanks to my son, Andrew and his friends at Southside Barbecue that provided the tasty brisket and sausage for almost 200 people.

Now that it is cooling off, let's start thinking about the holidays, especially the PCRW Holiday luncheon which will be held at the beautiful Brook Hollow Golf Club this year on December 9th.  Be thinking of friends and family that you want to include at your table for 10 at a nice discount if booked early.  Chairman Tina Peyton will be contacting us soon with the details.

I look forward to seeing you at the General Meeting on September 15th at the Meadows Museum for the program on High Speed Rail by County Commissioner Maurine Dickey.  Bring a friend and come at 11:30 to meet and greet!
